Sound The Alarm! Destruction Is Coming To North America In 2014

Fans of the Teutonic Titans Of Thrash will surely be appeased with the news that Schmier will be bringing Destruction to North America in the tail end of March and while the folks at Homeland Security need not be concerned since it’s not “THAT” kind of Destruction, you can rest assured that our celebration of March Metal Madness will likely be intensified when they stop here in NYC. More from me after the poster and the press release.

The Press Copy:
“Touring to support their 2013 release Spiritual Genocide, German thrash metal institution DESTRUCTION will launch their North American headlining tour on Tuesday, March 18th in Worcester, Massachusetts with direct support from Brazilian death metal kings KRISIUN. Guest openers will be North Carolina metallers WIDOW (March 18th – 24th) and California death thrashers EXMORTUS (March 25th – April 14th).

DESTRUCTION bassist & vocalist Schmier addresses the Western Chapter of The Fraternal Order of Adrenaline:

“A good two years ago, DESTRUCTION had a very tough American tour with tour bus break downs, promoters bailing out, and crew members disappearing. One thing was certain, though: the ones who supported us, THE FANS, the thrashers and all the real metalheads across the country, should not suffer from the circumstances of that ruinous trip. We are really looking forward to our return to North America and the belief that this time, in our 31st year of existence, we can choose from a set list that was never any better and tighter! So get ready to rumble America: German old-school thrash is back in town! See you in the pit!!!”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Having seen Destruction a few times over the last few years I can only confirm that their music on the live stage seem to bring out the most primal emotions in their fans so you can be rest assured that I will be hitting the tour when it hits The Marlin Room at Webster Hall in NYC as its second stop on the run. For those who think this might be another name for The Studio at Webster Hall, let me share that this is a venue unto itself on the second floor of the Webster Hall building. Of course I would love to offer up a contest for tickets for this show but it’s obviously too early for me to know if that will happen for our regional stop. Stay tuned to the PiercingMetal Facebook or Twitter so you know if that is going to be the case. Here’s a shot that I liked that I snagged of Schmier when they played B.B. King’s in 2009. It was an evening of brutality and if you have yet to see one of these legendary providers I would suggest that you mark your calendars with great intent.
