A couple of months ago I specked out the maxi-single for The 69 Eyes with “Love Runs Away”, and that release closed out with the bonus track from their album “X” in “Rosary Blue”. The song was not on every version of the CD and now fans of one of the main voices on the track can divest themselves of a minor fee and add this tune alone to their digital library. I’ll repeat my initial thoughts on the tune just in case you didn’t see my notes on the maxi-single.

As I’ve already mentioned, the song features vocals from the stunning and stylish Kat Von D. who is joined by the bands own Mister Sinister, Jyrki 69. The song is very melodic and super atmospheric and the duet between the pair is like listening to light versus dark. It is rife with sorrow and melancholy which I am guessing was the plan from the start and I think it’s probably one of the best bonus offerings that I have heard in some time. In my other summary, I mused how if the band hits our region with some touring that I hope they bring Kat along for some special appearances but we are still not seeing anything announced about a North American tour. That’s a shame since it’s been awhile since the Helsinki Vampires have tasted US blood. Kat sure has a lovely voice and I’m interested in hearing more from her. Be sure to check out more from this band and join into their following.
