Do you readers remember when I did a post about the Grand Re-Opening of the Rock Fantasy Shop in Middletown, NY? You don’t? Well then click the link HERE to get up to speed because this little post expands upon the story just a tad and also let’s me continue the fun started when I discussed the KISS Slot Machine not too long ago.
My reason for this fun little posting is to share with you that this very same shop now has in its possession the new Stern Pinball machine based on the mighty Metallica. Just after the holiday weekend not too long ago I once again paid the shop a visit and decided to go head to head with this machine. Take a look at how cool it is.
You’ll have to excuse the rather dark images but flash will just not work in a dark room hitting glass so you get what you get. The machine was cool as hell and was pumping out Metallica tunes as it defied me again and again. I am generally good at these machines but for some reason the Metallica one was working well against my Pinball Wizard status that was held in my teen years. Sigh.
I wanted to snag some video of the machine in action but I will readily admit that the ball just rocketed down on me but that is what I get for trying to video record myself playing and playing at the same time. I guess Geminis really CANNOT do two things at once. Oh well. So just enjoy the photographs.
With that being said, the next time you are up the Middletown, NY way and popping into Rock Fantasy to indulge your music and memorabilia needs, make a visit to their pinball room and be prepared to spend a few dollars as you try to master this machines. Oh yeah and before I forget to mention in this post, they also have the KISS, Ted Nugent, Rolling Stones, and AC/DC machines. Have fun and we shall see you soon.
PS: The other reason I wanted to do this little posting was based on the fact that Metallica’s own debut “Kill Em All” will hit the thirty year mark in the coming weeks. Perhaps I will raise a glass to that milestone as well. Stay tuned.
