PiercingMetal Thoughts: Before I begin these simple thoughts let me give a nod of respect to the memory of actor Anton Yelchin who plays Mr. Chekov in these re-imaginings. By now you all must have learned that the actor was killed in a tragic accident at his home just over a month ago. This will mark his final appearance as the character so keep him in your thoughts as you watch. I plan on seeing this one in the theater for sure since I did for “Into Darkness” but not right away. I’ve a healthy schedule ahead of me and there is only so much time in the day for all this stuff. What do you think? Will you be seeing this one on the big screen or waiting until its on HBO/Netflix? Let me know in the comments section. Oh and don’t click the Wikipedia entry below if you plan on seeing it soon. Now that the film has opened up the whole plot will be listed there.

  1. I will TRY to see this in the theater because the experience is always better, but like you it depends on my schedule. I’m a fan of JJ’s work in Trek, and even if I have to wait for a digital release I look forward to seeing these characters develop.

Very sad that Anton Yelchin will no longer be a part of the movies. He made a great Chekov.
