Opening: “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” (1/27/2017)

I’ve been bringing up the “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” film for a couple of months now and shared the Official Trailer in posts like the one on THIS LINK. Now the moment has arrived as the film has opened in theaters across the country. The final theatrical poster, premise and cast are for your indulgence below. Chomp, chomp.

The Synopsis:
Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion. PiercingMetal Thoughts: Since I really enjoyed the previous films, I had planned on seeing this one in the cinema but not on the day it opened up. I was thinking about waiting a week since I am so busy getting tour announcements out along with many other agenda items. However, once I realized that I had missed the fourth chapter I am going to wait until I get that one into my media mind. Someone told me that I should be fine seeing the new film without it but I like a sense of continuity which comes from all of my comic book collecting years. I was amazed that with my cable premium channels AND a Netflix account that I could not locate the fourth film anywhere. The same applies to the “Underworld” series and its why I have not seen that final chapter either. Oh well, there are worse things to be worried about right now. So as I have mentioned in an earlier related post, they are saying this is the final chapter so let’s see if that is the case after the release. It’s never truly the end in Hollywood unless they decide to reboot from the beginning (but please don’t do that Sony as its not needed). I like that there are some cool new undead monsters to face off against along with plenty of familiar ones. So as I close this up my dear readers, let me ask you if you will be seeing the film in the theaters or are you in the same boat as I am and are going to wait until it hits cable. Let me know what you think down in the comments below.
