Marvel’s “The Gifted” Official Trailer

It seems as though the folks at Fox will be launching yet another show with characters based on the X-Men franchise. Behold the full trailer for the television series called “The Gifted”. It will air later in the year.

The Premise: Two ordinary parents take their family on the run from the government when they discover that their children have mutant abilities, and join an underground community of mutants who have to fight to survive.

The Cast/Characters:
Stephen Moyer as Reed Strucker
Amy Acker as Caitlin Strucker
Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz/Eclipse
Jamie Chung as Clarice Fong/Blink
Coby Bell as Jace Turner
Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane/Polaris
Blair Redford as John Proudstar/Thunderbird
Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strucker
Percy Hynes White as Andy Strucker
Stan Lee makes a cameo appearance in the pilot

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Nope. Very little interest in this one and its likely due to how “meh” that “Legion” ended up leaving me. The other part of this that I don’t care for is all of this disregard for proper continuity just to have a character who is an X-Men or Evil Mutant featured. Thunderbird has been dead for decades as fandom knows and Polaris was an X-Men at one point as well. Also with green hair (unless we get that going forward). I’m at the point where I am pretty tired of other studios having access to the licenses for these properties and just want Marvel to be in control of the whole enchilada. It’s better for the characters and its surely better for the fans. I’m not trying to be mean spirited against some of the obviously fine actors involved, I just one one house for these things. What do you think? Will you be watching this one?

  1. That trailer left me wholly apathetic. I’m pretty much over Fox and their treatment if the X-Men franchise (excluding Deadpool and the last two Wolverine movies). Nothing on this stood out for me other than it’s cool to have Amy Aker from Angel in it. I’ll probably just skip this.
