As the summer chugs steadily along towards its September closing, the Fall tour announcements are starting to come in and that lets me share the latest scoop from the folks handling the media affairs of In This Moment. Check out the poster, press and run of tour dates below. I’ll close out with some editorial thoughts at the end.
The Press Release:
In This Moment will remain incredibly busy upon releasing their new album Ritual, out July 21. The band is currently in the middle of a headline tour in support of the album and will stay on the road through the rest of 2017.
In This Moment are pleased to announce that they will continue their wildly successfully “Half God, Half Devil” headline tour this fall, which will also see them making appearances at major fall festivals. Joining In This Moment on this leg will be Of Mice & Men, who will serve as direct support. Avatar will open the shows.
The tour kicks of on September 22 in Salt Lake City and runs through November. Fans can also plan to catch “can’t miss” sets at festivals: Rock Allegiance (Philadelphia), Louder Than Life (Louisville), Open Air (Houston), and Aftershock (Sacramento).
The anticipation for Ritual continues to burn at a fevered pitch, with fans packing each show on the current tour. First single “Oh Lord” has been met with praise. It steadily climbed the radio charts and has just cracked the Top 10; watch the video here. The band also shared the new track “Roots” leading into release; listen to the song here.
In This Moment also dropped their sonically arresting and dramatic reimagining of Phil Collins’ beloved ’80s classic “In the Air Tonight,” which lives on Ritual and has been incorporated into the band’s live set. In This Moment have truly made the song their own, thanks to a captivating rendition that both preserves and updates all the tension and release of the original. Listen here.
Ritual will be released by Atlantic Records in partnership with Roadrunner Records and is available for pre-order now. Exclusive pre-order bundles, which include custom In This Moment branded rosary beads, are available now at the band’s webstore.
Ritual sees In This Moment pushing their inimitably dark sound forward with a provocative sense of pervading doom and metallic blues power. Additional highlights include “Black Wedding,” a walk down the aisle of musical madness that sees lead singer Maria Brink sharing the mic with legendary Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve always pretty much enjoyed what ITM is putting out there and if you’ve seen them in the most recent years, their show has been given a bit of a Metalized Las Vegas review upgrade. Its rather wild so with each and every tour I am curious about what Maria Brink and company are going to deliver next. There is a lot of dates on this continuing tour so no reason for fans to miss out on a performance if they are coming to their own or a neighboring town. I’m going to try and hit the show in my neck of the woods since it will lead me right into the NY Comic Con where I will be quite busy for the four full days. I don’t think I’ve ever documented anything about Of Mice and Men on the website outside of a tour notice or contest so it will be nice to finally offer up some live concert opinion about them, and as far as Avatar is concerned, well they are awesome. I cannot wait to see them doing their thing on a big stage since they are quite visual as well. What do you readers think of this tour? Is it something you are checking your availability for right away or will you be passing? Let me know in the comments section down below.
