It seems as though the mighty Motorhead is the next Metal band to toss their hat into the cruise ring with an experience that they are calling “Motorhead’s Motorboat”. The band announced this the other day and I’m happy to share the official word and poster for this high seas adventure with you now. Check it out and then we can discuss a little bit.
Official Press Copy:
“We are excited to announce Motörhead’s MotörBoat – The Loudest Boat In The Wörld – featuring Megadeth, Official Motörhead, Anthrax, Zakk Wylde, Jim Breuer, Danko Jones, Fireball Ministry, Wilson and even more! Sailing September 22-26, 2014, on the spectacular Carnival Cruise Lines Ecstasy from Miami to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico, we’ll have dozens of amazing concerts, artist meet and greets, Q&A sessions, wet and wild parties, crazy theme nights and a ship-ton of other fun stuff!”
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Wow does this sound like a wild time on the high seas with some super bands. Of course having seen “Titanic” and “Gilligans Island” numerous times makes me question just where I will end up as this sets sail. Oh you know I am kidding of course but the volume that Motorhead alone can generate makes me hope its a sturdy vessel. The moshing expected by the likes of Megadeth and Anthrax will find me hoping that the shows they do are on the inside or that life vests are a required bit of wear so no parts of the circle pit go sliding overboard. You want to be caught in the mosh and not the wake of the Motorboat after all. So yeah this is probably going to be a lot wilder than the “Shiprocked” experience and even the KISS Kruise (which I still want to go on myself).
Its clear to me that these cruise experiences and Hard Rock and Metal music are not going away at all and instead only growing so I wonder if any of you readers have ever been on one or are hoping to do so at some point in the immediate future. Sadly I don’t think I will be making this one and will be holding the Metal flag deep into the good old Mother Earth while this happens in September. Information on tickets can be found on the official cruise link and the bands who are playing can have their adventures followed via their websites and social networks. Chime in below in the comments section to let me know what you think about this event as I am interested in hearing your side of it all.
