In trying to keep you readers up to speed on some of the Underground happenings as much as the jagunda ones, here is some press on a tour starting in a couple of weeks that features both Abigail Williams and Today Is The Day. I have snagged the tour promotional poster and the press copy from AW’s side of the fence for your edification. Read on and I will be back later.

Tour - Abigail Williams - Summer 2015

The Press Release:
American black metal legion, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, will release their first new full-length in three years via Candlelight Records this October. Titled The Accuser and now featuring the punishing lineup of founding vocalist/guitarist Ken Sorceron (ex-Lord Mantis), guitarist Jeff Wilson (Wolvhammer, Chrome Waves, Doomsday, La Chant Funebre), and drummer Charlie Fell (Cobalt, ex-Lord Mantis, ex-Avichi) with recording bassist Will Lindsay (Indian, Lord Mantis, Anatomy Of Habit), the diseased offering was recorded, mixed and mastered in just five days by Sorceron at the band’s home studio in Olympia, Washington, boasts a guest appearance by Neill Jameson (Krieg, Twilight) and includes the tripnotic cover renderings of Portland-based illustrator/tattoo artist, Stevie Floyd (Dark Castle, Taurus).

Corrosive and grim, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS’ The Accuser will quickly be viewed as the band’s best effort since their genesis in Los Angeles in 2004. The eight hymns comprising The Accuser are bleak, dark, and infinitely engrossing. “It took three years to make this because I’m an indecisive bastard and I didn’t want to make the same record again,” confides Sorceron of the lengthy gap between full-lengths. “It felt unnatural to try and reproduce what I did on [2012’s] Becoming,” he continues, “which, up to that point I felt was our strongest album. So once again we are covering new ground with this release. The songs are the most personal to date with the themes mostly being about living shitty, addictions, sex, loss and failure all through the eyes of a nihilistic occultist shithead.”

The Accuser Track Listing:
1. Path Of Broken Glass
2. The Cold Lines
3. Of The Outer Darkness
4. Will, Wish And Desire
5. Godhead
6. Forever Kingdom Of Dirt
7. Lost Communion
8. Nuummite

The Accuser will see release on October 30th via Candlelight Records with preorders and teaser tracks to be revealed in the coming weeks. As a precursor to its release, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will bring their audio slayings to the stage on a month-long North American tour supporting visionary metal trio, Today Is the Day. The tour kicks off in Salt Lake City on Friday, September 11th and runs through most of the US and into Canada, ending on October 16th in San Francisco.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Wow so thirty one dates in just over that many days time which means very little downtime for breathing room. I suggest you buys these guys a couple of beers or stuff from their merchandise table so they have gas to get to the next stop. This ain’t Hollywood my friends this is True Underground Metal Touring. Now I have never before heard Today Is The Day but I am intrigued and that means I want to see what they are all about. Abigail Williams is a band that I have enjoyed for many years and I’ve watched them grow as a Black Metal band in terms of song structure, atmosphere and strength of performance and I review them as a worthy band for your dollars attention. Our regional show is at the Bowery Electric which is an intimate space down on the Lower East Side and great for a band such as this since it lets you get right up close to the musical action. They also have a cool bar down there if you drink so if my schedule is clear you know where to find me on 9/27/2015. What do you readers think about this tour and the fact that Abigail Williams is still pushing their game ahead despite many obstacles. Will you be checking this tour out at all when it hits your region? Let me know in the comments section as I have left that open for you.
